Get it out the door
Sell
Record what went out of the door.
The most common thing that happens to stock, on one screen. What went out, where it left from and the order or receipt number, recorded as a sale against the place it left. A stock figure that does not fall the moment something sells is a stock figure that stops being true the first hour of trading.
For shops and online sellers recording each sale against the place the stock left from.
What is on it
-
Where it went out of
Choose the place the stock left from, down to the shelf.
-
The order or receipt number
Type it once and it is kept on every line of the sale.
-
Only what is free to sell
You sell against what is available: on hand, less what Pick has already reserved. The screen says which number it is using.
-
Price on every line
Each product shows how many there are to sell and what it sells for.
-
Dated, and can be undone
Every sale is dated, and can be undone from the product.
How it works
- Choose where the sale went out of and type the order number.
- Type how many of each product sold.
- Record each line. Buy and Optimise count it as demand from then on.
What it does not do yet
A screen that looks like it did something it didn't is the worst outcome, so this is said here as plainly as it is in the app.
- Sales on a website or marketplace are not recorded automatically. No marketplace is connected yet.

Questions people actually ask
Does it connect to eBay, Amazon or a till?
Not yet. No marketplace or point of sale is connected, so sales are recorded here, or through Pick when an order is gathered. What it does do is take the stock off the right shelf and keep the order or receipt number against it.
Can I undo a sale?
Yes, straight afterwards. The undo writes a reversing movement rather than deleting the record, so the history still shows that a sale was recorded and then put right, which is what an audit of your stock figures needs to see.
Does it do invoices or take payment?
No. It records what left, where it left from and the reference, and nothing about money changing hands beyond the price on the line. Invoices, tax and payments belong in your accounts system, and this is the stock side of the same sale.
Does this stop me overselling?
It stops you overselling within StockRoom: Sell only offers what is actually free - on hand, less whatever Pick has already reserved for another order - so two people working from the same stock cannot both promise the last one. What it cannot do is stop overselling across separate sales channels, because no marketplace is connected yet. If you sell the same product on eBay, Amazon and your own till at once, each of those still needs its own answer to this question today - StockRoom only knows about stock recorded here, not what another platform believes you hold.
